So I was playing earlier and I thought I was getting schooled, but Shock came in and was all like "nope, you did great, you got flags" but I wasn't happy cause I had a 5-9 kill to death ratio... So what is a good game in ctf? My thinking was that you should maintain at least a 1to1 ratio of kills to deaths if you are flag running. If you are covering flag runners, then like 1.5to1 or 2to1. If you are solely snipin then something like a 4to1 ratio (but there are really few times that people solely snipe, and usually when they do, they get a 20to1 ratio or something crazy like that). Should team standings matter? What about which flags you go for? Are my standards too high? Finally, does it even matter how one individual does? Or is it just 'RED IS THE BEST' and 'BLUE SUX' This bear soaked rambling brought to you by: Labatt's Blue and Arianne

yeh I agree with your ratios...but its always nice to see someone who sacrificed their score(kill/death ratio) to get flags...you may have died more than you killed but at least you got flags for your team after all it is TEAM ctf. Base flags of course are harder to get so you could also factor that in...
at the end of the day you're a great player ari and I always enjoy playin' with ya 'cause we own together!

My kill to death ratio is very poor. I never usually worry about it 'cause I'm too busy running flags. ;D. Everyone has different opinions on this.. But the game is called CTF!!! In my opinion, mass killing is ridiculous... It is very easy to shoot people that are not wanting to shoot back, on the other hand, sniping to protect a flag is an important part of the game. Protecting flags is an art. Using explosives and sneaky tactics. Covering a flag runner is another important aspect of the game too. Solely worrying about ratios is not a team oriented way of thinking. What matters most is getting all their flags before they get all yours...

Exactely...But my game plan depends on the mood I'm in and who is on my team...I usually run flags, but if there's lots of flag runners on my team, then i'll so snipe; and if its a close game, then I'll run flags for my team. ;D But normally, I just run flags, and kill the ppl that are stoping me from accomplishing that. ;D

My start in CTF is very simple. I am for 2-3 flags a game and try to get atleast a 1.5 kills for every death. Shre the game is called CTF but to capture the flags you need to get the enemy out of there. I've seen you play Red Rage, I think thats awsome how you can get 4, 5 or 6 flags by dieing 4 times and killing 4 people.

this is my take on a good game for ctf for players:
if ur playin in public i thinks its always good to strive for a great kill to death ratio. however it also depends on the game ur in and what u as a player want to get out of it.

Personally I play for the fun of it. Sure it's great to win or be on the winning team or whatever, but when I pay attention to my score I stop having fun. So I really don't care about my score too much. ;D

Also a good game is when the players are good and they are friendly as well. It makes it fun and action packed.
